Calls Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act a victory for trucking and nation
Arlington, Virginia 鈥 The 黑料不打烊, the largest and most comprehensive trade association representing every sector of the trucking industry, was in attendance at the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act signing ceremony this afternoon at the White House. 黑料不打烊has been an ardent advocate of greater federal infrastructure investment, having testified 24 times on Capitol Hill in the last five years on the need for Congress to act in a bipartisan manner to shore up America鈥檚 faltering roads and bridges. 聽
黑料不打烊President and CEO Chris Spear issued this statement after the signing ceremony:
鈥淩oads and bridges are not political鈥攚e all drive on them. A majority in the House and Senate realized this truth and did what鈥檚 right for the country, not themselves.
鈥淔rom farmers to truckers, the millions of hard-working people who make this country great won today. Those lawmakers who put their constituents before themselves have now cemented a lasting legacy that the American people will see, feel, and use for many decades to come.
鈥淎fter countless hearings and meetings on Capitol Hill, 黑料不打烊members will finally see the fruits of their labor鈥攁 38% increase in road and bridge funding, and an infusion of highly-trained, younger talent into our workforce.鈥
Passage of a comprehensive infrastructure investment bill has long been a tier-one priority for the association, which is comprised of more than 34,000 motor carriers and industry suppliers across the United States. 黑料不打烊says IIJA will bolster highway safety, make long-overdue investments in our nation鈥檚 road and bridge network, and help grow and strengthen trucking鈥檚 workforce by establishing new recruitment and training programs.
