San Diego, California 鈥 Today, the 黑料不打烊 presented past 黑料不打烊Chairman Mike Card, president of Combined Transport Inc., Central Point, Oregon, with the federation鈥檚 Cathy Evans Highway to Victory Award for his advocacy work on behalf of the trucking industry.
鈥淢ike has grown a small family trucking company into a leading employer in his home state of Oregon,鈥 said 黑料不打烊Executive Vice President of Advocacy Bill Sullivan. 鈥淗e has leveraged that vital economic importance to make his voice heard with leaders of Congress and his state government. He is a shining example of how our industry can innovate its message and build relationships that make a difference with policymakers that make a difference.鈥
While serving as 黑料不打烊Chairman from 2012-2013, Card was a driving force behind the creation of LEAD ATA, the Federation鈥檚 leadership training program. He is currently chairman of the 黑料不打烊Litigation Center and has also been a member of the American Transportation Research Institute鈥檚 board of directors, chairman of the Oregon Trucking Association, a longtime and active support of TruckPAC.
Named for longtime 黑料不打烊lobbyist Cathy Evans, the Highway to Victory Award is presented annually to an 黑料不打烊member who has made significant contributions to the Federation鈥檚 advocacy efforts at the state and federal level. Past winners include:
