There is only one premier gathering for moving and storage professionals to connect, collaborate, and stay ahead in a rapidly evolving industry. 

Last week, ATA’s Moving & Storage Conference convened in Nashville for our Annual Meeting.  Attendees engaged in in-depth discussions on the issues shaping their businesses, gained insights from industry leaders, and discovered strategies and solutions to strengthen their operations.  

From discussions on contracting with the government and military moving to advice on ways to boost growth and prosper in a highly competitive environment, MSC Annual delivered timely intelligence that today’s moving and storage leaders need to know. 

Beyond the sessions, Nashville provided invaluable networking opportunities—including a rocking “Movers Bash”—that built lasting partnerships and will drive success long after the meeting ends. 

Here were just three of the highlights of three days in Music City: 

1. We Celebrated Our Victories 

ATA’s Moving & Storage Conference has had a busy and productive year, and at MSC Annual, we toasted that success.   

Since our last annual meeting, we have worked together to tell Congress to protect consumers from household goods theft and fraud.  We continued to make progress in the fight against lawsuit abuse.  We played a key role in the preservation of the independent contractor model.  And we clinched a major victory to reform military moving.   

In January, following our advocacy, Secretary Pete Hegseth significant improvements to the efficiency and quality of military relocations.   

For months, members and staff from ATA’s Moving & Storage Conference provided assistance to the DoD to identify the systemic problems within the Global Household Goods Contract program.  Making the next iteration of DoD’s moving program a success will ease the burden on warfighters and also enhance the essential partnership the moving industry has forged with servicemembers. 

Together, these accomplishments demonstrate what is possible when our conference speaks with one voice, turning our members’ expertise into results.  This is collective advocacy at work—and it is delivering for our industry. 

2. We Honored Our Leaders 

Every year, moving and storage companies seamlessly facilitate tens of millions of moves.  Americans put their trust in our industry with their most valuable possessions and family heirlooms.  Day in and day out, we prove that their confidence is well placed.   

These  logistical feats that our industry performs on a daily basis would not be possible without the professionals—drivers, packers, administrative staff, managers, and others—who show up, work hard, and do their jobs safely and conscientiously. 

Among this elite workforce, there are many who go above and beyond.  Their exemplary achievements took center stage at the MSC Annual Awards Luncheon, which recognized leaders and innovators whose excellence is driving our industry forward:

3. We Charted the Path Ahead 

Movers’ unity is our strength.  MSC Annual enables us to forge even stronger ties, allowing our members to chart our future together.   

To build on our momentum and continue to deliver results, MSC Annual gave us the opportunity to map out our priorities and strategize on how to get them across the finish line.  Those priorities include tax and regulatory reform, consistent and commonsense enforcement, support for workforce development, improving privacy and data security, and housing market reforms. 

We are excited to work with you—our members—in the year ahead to make progress on these issues and strengthen our industry.  With MSC Annual 2026 now in the rearview, we are already looking forward to when we will see moving and storage veterans—and new faces—at MSC Annual in Indianapolis on April 22 – 25, 2027.  Even sooner, we look forward to seeing many industry leaders at , September 15 – 17, to advocate for many of these important policy issues.
